The average annual sales volume for the calendar year ended December 31, 2019 for the Sonny’s BBQ franchised restaurants included in the survey was $2,629,672. 45 or 48.91% of these restaurants reported average annual sales volume at or above this sales level. The standard initial franchise fee is $35,000 for the first restaurant. You may own and operate 2 or more Sonny’s restaurants under an Area Development Agreement and a development fee of $15,000 is expected for each restaurant, which is credited toward payment of the initial franchise fee on a pro-rata basis.
Standard initial term of our Franchise Agreement is twenty (20) years with a renewal option of ten (10) years.
There is a 4.5% royalty fee plus a 2% brand fund fee and 2% local advertising fee. Fees are paid per restaurant and are based on gross receipts.

The process includes pre-qualification, the application process, due diligence, business plan review, franchise agreement signing, site selection, construction and grand opening. The candidate approval process takes approximately 60-90 days. The average length of time between signing the Franchise Agreement to the grand opening is 9 – 15 months.
